Gregersen Law.

Mr. Gregersen is dually licensed as a land surveyor and attorney. That is, I am licensed as a land surveyor in Utah, Idaho, and California. I am also licensed as an attorney in Utah, Idaho, and California (inactive status). Land surveying often involves legal principles such as boundary law. However, when I act as a land surveyor I am not acting as an attorney. Each have different duties. Following are some examples of differences between one who acts and a land surveyor versus one who acts as an attorney:

A land surveyor has a duty to be objective, while an attorney is an advocate for a client.

A land surveyor performs or reviews land surveys, while an attorney prepares court pleadings, discovery requests, etc.

A land surveyor can share opinions as an expert witness at trial, while an attorney is not a witness and represents a client throughout a trial.
